Level of Academic Progress

Every child learns at a different rate. At SCORE!, our Personal Academic Tutoring program produces the fastest results for the typical student. On average, improvement is 1.5 grade levels in 45 hours of instruction.

Quality of Instruction

SCORE! Tutors are a special group of people. To be a tutor they are required to complete our extensive initial training program, as well as, participate in ongoing training sessions and seminars that keep their knowledge current, ensuring your child has access to qualified instruction. And while education qualities are important, we also select individuals that demonstrate an ability to relate to kids and provide the motivation to love learning.

Method of Instruction

We begin every program with an academic assessment that provides us with a direction to create a customized learning plan. SCORE! tutors then employ our proven instructional methods to help kids excel, meet or exceed their learning goals. We help keep kids focused on academic progress with a proven motivational goal-setting and reward system that is designed to produce results and promote self confidence.

Personal Attention

SCORE! Tutors are ready for your child the minute they walk in the door with a history of what your child has worked on in previous sessions including concepts mastered and those that need additional work. Each tutoring session includes an individualized lesson plan that includes specific and/or highest priority needs for your child. In the learning sessions there are never more than 3 students per tutor in our Personal Academic Tutoring program or 7 students per instructor in our Advantage Program. Regardless of the program, it is our priority to ensure your child receives the personal attention he or she needs to succeed.

Programs Offered

Reading, Math and Writing are our core subjects. The learning experience is enhanced in each of these subjects through the use of instructional pathways such as our Reading Pyramid, Path to Math and Writing Wheel. We also offer Early Learning, Study Skills, SpellRead and Test Prep programs.

Curriculum

SCORE! offers more ways to learn in our centers than our closest competitor. Many parents choose our popular tutor-led Personal Academic Tutoring program with the fastest academic improvement. Many children also benefit from our interactive and adaptive Advantage Program which features a computer-driven curriculum enhanced with guidance from our expert tutors.

Motivation and Reward System

In all of our tutoring programs, SCORE! uses motivation and rewards to encourage and support students love of learning. Price

Our programs start at $20 per hour, and vary depending on the level of individual instruction. But before any instruction begins, we perform a comprehensive Academic Assessment that provides us with a snapshot of your child pinpointing areas that need improvement. The fee for the assessment is $150 for Personal Academic Tutoring Program and covers all assessments in the program's main subject. There is also a Registration Fee of $125 to activate the program.
